Doxnest helps Australian employers and office managers produce a clear payslip PDF without payroll software subscriptions. You enter employer and employee details, pay period dates, earnings lines, and withholding amounts. The layout is designed for readability: gross pay, PAYG withholding, superannuation guarantee (SG), and net pay are separated so staff can reconcile pays against bank deposits.
Calculations can use ATO Schedule 1 style estimates when you choose automatic PAYG mode, driven by versioned rule packs in the repository. You remain responsible for confirming figures against your registered agent, payroll bureau, or the ATO’s own tools before lodging Single Touch Payroll or year-end reports.
Suppose an employee earns $1,200.00 ordinary time earnings for a fortnight, with no salary sacrifice and tax-free threshold claimed. With automatic PAYG enabled, Schedule 1 might withhold roughly $192.00 (your exact figure depends on the active tax year table and pay frequency). Super at 12% on ordinary time earnings adds $144.00 employer SG, shown separately from net pay of about $1,008.00 before any voluntary deductions.
If you add a $50.00 post-tax union fee, net pay becomes $958.00 while gross and PAYG lines stay tied to the pre-deduction base. Always match the pay period dates on the slip to the actual bank transfer date and keep timesheets that support the hours behind the $1,200.00 gross.
Sole traders with one employee, family businesses, cafes, and tradies who issue occasional payslips often outgrow spreadsheets but do not need full STP-enabled payroll yet. Freelancers who employ part-time help for a few weeks can also use the template for record-keeping, provided labels match your actual pay arrangement.
The generator does not replace STP reporting, does not store TFNs on our servers, and is not an official ATO form. It is an unofficial document for employee communication and internal files.
Pay cycle (weekly, fortnightly, monthly) affects how Schedule 1 estimates are applied when auto PAYG is on. Super is shown as a separate line; verify the superannuation guarantee rate and ordinary time earnings rules for your industry award. Pre-tax and post-tax deductions should mirror your authority to deduct (salary sacrifice, union fees, etc.).
Always keep timesheets, award classifications, and bank payment records alongside the PDF. If an employee disputes net pay, your source documents matter more than the template wording.
Editing happens in your browser. Preview and PDF export share one render path so totals on screen match the downloaded file. Drafts may be stored locally under fdk.* keys so you can recover work on the same device; clearing site data removes those drafts.
We do not receive payslip field contents in v1. Use Export JSON if you want a backup file you control, and Import JSON when reissuing a similar pay run next period.
Document contents stay in your browser for PDF generation. We do not receive your payslip, invoice, or counterparty details in v1.

Yes. Preview and download share the same render path so totals and layout stay consistent.
